The Adi-Ease Universal has already arrived this season, in a very minimal Black/White colourway that had a real retro football feel to it. If that iteration wasn't quite to your taste, however, then this one might be - the Adi-Ease Universal has arrived in a very bold White/Scarlet/Gum, looking every inch a skate shoe but retaining that vintage soccer feel that gives adidas so much of its character.
The full leather upper, coming in white, is incredibly supple and thick, lightly creasing when pressed (indicating its high quality). It has been offset by hits of scarlet red throughout, namely on the tumbled leather Three Stripes, tumbled leather heel and the inner textile lining. Muting the shoe nicely is the gum sole, which tones things down to perfection and effectively provides the late 20th century style that adidas always gets so right. Adidas branding has been given priority on the tongue and heel coming in gold, as has the "adidas skateschuhe" text on the lateral side of the shoe, only further enhancing the football feel of this cracking shoe.
While the colourway may hark back to previous eras, the technology that has been packed into the shoe is almost futuristic. The supple leather may not seem like a great material for a skate shoe, but its thickness means it will stand up well against the wear and tear of skateboarding. Aiding the upper is a layer of ADITUFF around the front of the midsole, textured to help with controlling flip tricks and such, and the vulcanized sole, which also provides excellent boardfeel. The vector traction outsole pattern provides the best board grip that adidas offers, and inside the shoe a molded PU sockliner offers unreal impact cushioning and overall comfort.
We also have a host of other Adidas Skateboarding styles, including the Superstar Vulc, Busenitz, Seeley, Lucas, Silas, Matchcourt, and more.
