The Matchcourt Mid is the perfect skate shoe for the winter months, thanks to its ankle-boot style and sturdy construction that holds up well against the elements. It has arrived in a variety of colourways for AW16, and a nice middle ground is this Solid Grey/Yellow/White colourway, eye-catching yet subtle at the same time. It's also got the all important Gonz seal of approval.
The majority of the upper comes in a grey canvas, with the Three Stripes and toecap contrasting nicely thanks to their respective leather and rubbery makeups. The dot-like yellow and black pattern, designed by the legendary Gonz himself, features around the canvas heel and also runs down the tongue all the way to the toebox, brightening the shoe perfectly and matching the yellow Mark Gonzo branding on the lateral side of the shoe. A white midsole enhances the crisp feel of the shoe, with a grey outsole muting things to perfection.
The mid-cut design of the shoe makes it perfect for those of you that need a bit more support and security around the ankle and achilles when you skate, with flexibility still in abundance thanks to the soft nature of the canvas. Adidas' molded PU sockliner of course remains, to provide great impact cushioning and comfort overall, with the vulcanised sole and vector traction outsole ensuring great boardfeel and grip. The most notable thing about the shoe is the extended rubber toecap that runs around the front of the shoe, a great addition because it increases durability significantly in what is a high abrasion area when skating.
We also have a host of other Adidas Skateboarding styles, including the Superstar Vulc, Busenitz, Seeley, Adi-Ease, Silas, Matchcourt Low and Slip-On, Lucas and more.
