HUF has never been shy about showing its appreciation for a certain type of ‘greenery’.
HUF Plantlife socks remain popular year after year, and as a brand that has always had a strong connection with the smoking scene, we’re sure it won’t come as a surprise that HUF’s most recent collaboration is with HIGH TIMES, the world’s No. 1 resource for cannabis information and culture.
The New York-based monthly magazine was founded way back in 1974, covering all things marijuana, from cultivation and legalization, as well as entertainment, politics and celebrity interviews, in addition to being a leader in exposing the ‘War on Drugs’.
Prolific contributors to the publication over the years include Charles Bukowski, William S Burroughs, Andy Warhol, and the late great Hunter S. Thompson. Renowned for cutting-edge journalism that no other magazine would touch, HIGH TIMES has played a prominent role as a counterculture authority in the 35 years it’s been in publication, and it’s still going strong today. Some of the names to feature in, or grace the cover of HIGH TIMES include JFK, John Lennon and Arnie (who freely admits to enjoying a cheeky spliff) as well as (shockingly) Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill and Jason Mewes.
The launch of the collaboration was accompanied by this spoof anti-marijuana video highlighting the risks of partaking in the drug, taking the form of anti-smoking campaigns commonly seen airing today.
This isn’t the first time that HUF and HIGH TIMES have collaborated and we are sure it won’t be the last. This season, the co-branded line features jackets, hoodies and tees which incorporate a hidden stash pocket, as well as socks in black and white colourways.
