Cast your mind way back to 2010. Did you cop yourself a pair of sneaks from the highly respected, Saucony X Bodega Shadow 5000 Elite Pack? They were super limited edition, so chances are, you probably didn’t.
More than half a decade has passed since the release so we’re sure you’re totally over it now… but still, those bad boys were a treat for the eye; the sole, a solid foundation of gum supporting a premium leather and suede silhouette, in three strong colourways – grey/blue, grey/turquoise and all-red. Each pair finished with the classic winged logo branded to its tongue. They were every sneakerheads dream.
But wait. Fast forward yourself back to 2016. Saucony has just reopened the door for a massive reissue of one of their most respected collabs. Yes, the Saucony X Bodega Shadow 5000 Elite pack is back!
This time round, the release features two distinctive monotone colourways, royal blue, and deep red.
The original Elite project was headed up by Jay Gordon, proprietor of Bodega. He was tasked with working alongside Saucony to generate a unique capsule collection of footwear, exclusively for a select few of Japanese retailers. The program completely took off and now marks a hugely successful template for all of Saucony’s collaborative projects.
In a recent interview with The Drop Date, Jay states “The idea was to reintroduce some of the classic models in a premium way. With the red and blue, we wanted premium materials and a classic look”.
Attitude Inc will be launching the Saucony X Bodega Shadow 5000 Elite Pack on Saturday 9th January 2016. Don’t miss it.
