HUF Delivers an Eclectic Spring/Summer 16 Collection

HUF’s continuously strong output is something to be marvelled at. Every season they knock out numerous collaborations along with a strong mainline, without feeling like they are over-saturating the market. It appears they’ve taken this same approach with their SS16 collection, which is filled with simple staple pieces, loud statement pieces, and just about everything in between.

A new collaboration for this season is with SLAP, the popular skate magazine founded by Lance Dawes. As we’ve seen with Huf and Thrasher collaborations from previous years, the SLAP logo is given priority on all the pieces in the collection with small HUF WORLDWIDE branding often featured underneath. This simple but effective approach has allowed Huf to produce numerous collaborations without making them feel too similar. SLAP’s history is deeply rooted in skating, it was one of the first skate magazines to really broaden its horizons and present art, music, personalities and news to readers as well as the usual skating content. This brilliantly executed collaboration features a host bold graphics across tees, hats and a navy coach jacket picsture above, and its all available here at Attitude Inc!

Yes, that is SPAM as in the meat that became a national treasure during the second World War. Huf’s penchant for outlandish collaborations is apparent has seen them produce some great clothing over the years, and that isn’t lost this time around. Long-sleeve tees featuring SPAM text in that characteristic rounded font down the sleeves, along with a trucker hat featuring a duck camo print to the front with large SPAM text again, makes this collaboration a true standout, and its certainly been popular here!

HUF-TRIPLE-TRIANGLE-T-SHIRT-BLACK-1_600x600HUF-GOLDEN-CAMO-STRIPE-BOX-LOGO-PULLOVER-HOOD-black-1_600x600Huf never slack when it comes to their mainline, consistency is always maintained with strong seasonal collections. That is most certainly the case this time around also, as the box logo, triple triangle and script logo graphics all make welcome returns. Tiger camo is a recurring theme this time around, and is used across a variety of pieces to add a dash of colour more suited the approaching summer months. Things are kept fairly basic overall, but this simplicity has become a hallmark of Huf’s work, and does essentially mean that you can’t go wrong when purchasing anything they produce. Quality is as high as ever, hoodies are thick enough to get you through the unpredictable British weather, and tees are soft enough to offer premium comfort and fit. We’ve also got some of the Huf x Obey collaboration still available, including a coach jacket and zip hoody, so make sure to cop that before it sells out!

If you’re thinking of copping anything don’t be deliberating for too long though, as quantities are limited, seize the day! Think about your bank balance later!

Final Thought – It’s been done before and it will be done again, but layering one of the numerous Huf coach jackets with a contrasting hoodie can really set off an outfit!
