RIPNDIP is a fabled streetwear label that’s been killing it since 2009 when it was founded in Florida by Ryan O’Connor. For summer 2016, they’ve produced a clean collection heavily featuring the graphic that has adorned whole buildings recently (see RIPNDIP’s LA and NYC pop-up stores), Nermal the cat.
First up is the Falling Nermal t-shirt, coming in white only. Nermal is depicted as falling down the tee, naturally with his middle fingers (fingers? paws?) mischievously raised while his tail trails behind. Quality is not lost, as the tee is constructed from cotton only, making it very soft and breathable, perfect for the current UK heatwave!
Nermal is present again in the form of the Lord Nermal Pocket t-shirt. This one comes in a few more colours, the olive and baby blue iterations pictured above, as well as baby pink, white, black and grey versions. The pink and blue variations are brilliant pastel shades that are perfect for the sunny summer we’re finally seeing here in the UK! At first glance, Nermal’s head simply appears to be poking out of the pocket, but when the pocket is pulled down, Nermal again has his middle finger up to the world. These again come in 100% premium cotton, and are made solely in America, guaranteeing a good level of quality and manufacturing. Overall, a tongue-in-cheek t-shirt that would add a perfect touch to any outfit.
RIPNDIP is an eccentric brand to say the least, and this eccentricity is embodied in the accessories it has produced for this summer. We see only the one camp cap offering, the Nermal All-Over Print pictured above, which is certainly a standout piece to say the least! The blue and orange eyes on the cats contrast strongly against the black RIPNDIP box logo, making an unbelievably aesthetically pleasing hat overall. In the absence of more hats, we see the We Out Here plush toy, which in RIPNDIP’s own words is “18 inches tall”, has “gorgeous facial features”, and thankfully, “no aliens were harmed in the making of this product”! Also, real outlandish accessories but cool ones nonetheless, are the three air fresheners included in this newest delivery, two of which are Nermal inspired with the other featuring the same “We Out Here” alien face as the plush toy. You can check them out online and in-store right now!
All of this new RIPNDIP delivery is available both online and in-store right now. It’s fairly limited though, and certainly very popular, so act fast if you see anything you like!
