Raised By Wolves AW16 Features a Gritty Black Sabbath Collaboration

Raised By Wolves absolutely smashed it with its SS16 collection. A stripped-back approach, with an increased focus on quality and clean colourways, proved to be the perfect recipe for success, with very few items in the collection left on our website and in our store. The same ethos flows throughout its AW16 collection, which has just arrived here at Attitude Inc., both online and in-store. Made in Canada quality, mixed with autumnal colours and a bright yet dark Black Sabbath collaboration, has left us in awe.

Let’s kick off with the heaviest items in the new collection. The Varsity Premium Hoodie arrives in two new colours, Wine on the left above and Black on the right above. They are both very minimal hoodies, with the only branding being the screen printed Raised By Wolves Varsity logo on the chest in white, making them incredibly versatile. Black provides a nice simple option that will complement almost any outfit very nicely, and the Wine colour is a bit brighter, letting you add a dose of colour to your potentially dark autumn wardrobe. White drawstrings let you tailor the fit of the hood to your preference, and a raglan sleeve design provides great freedom of movement around the shoulder.

Moving down a layer, we see the arrival of two new t-shirts in a total of five different colourways. On the left above we have the Nature T-Shirt pictured in White, with a Black alternative also available. The black screen printed graphic is the only new artwork we see in the AW16 collection, but it is all that is needed. A 100% cotton construction makes the t-shirt incredibly soft and comfortable, so evidently this is a t-shirt you cannot go wrong with. The same can be said for the Varsity T-Shirt pictured on the right above, in an Olive Drab colourway. The same Varsity logo as seen on the hoodie above has been screen printed onto Wine, Black and Olive Drab-coloured t-shirts, all featuring 100% cotton constructions making them very high quality. All of Raised By Wolves’ t-shirts are very thick also, making them ideal for the colder weather ahead.

A minimal approach has again been taken to headwear. The Halifax 5 Panel Cap has arrived in two colourways, the Ranch Tan pictured on the left above, and a more toned-down Black colourway also. Its 5 panel style makes it a very accessible hat, ideal for almost every head type, and branding has been kept basic with a woven black label on the front panel featuring white Raised By Wolves text. The Ranch Tan colourway has a real autumn feel to it, and would work beautifully with some of the other black items in the collection like the Varsity Hoodie. Another hat in the delivery is the more constructed Cooper 6 Panel Cap, arriving in Black which is pictured above on the right, as well as Camo. Branding has again been kept very minimal, with only a W logo on the front, making this another very accessible headwear option that’s perfect if you want something with a bit more structure to it. The other hat in the delivery is the Raised 6 Panel Cap, in Olive and Grey colourways.

Raised By Wolves, being a Canadian brand, knows a thing or two about a cold winter. Thankfully, it has equipped us with beanies and even a balaclava which provide great protection against the elements. The Watch Cap, pictured on the left above, is an acrylic half-cardigan knit beanie, very soft in nature, which will keep your head warm throughout the colder months ahead. A monochromatic colourway has been created with the addition of white embroidered Raised By Wolves text, making it a very versatile beanie overall. Said beanie has also arrived in Grey and Olive, so you’ve got a decent palette of colours to choose from. We know Raised By Wolves is a fan of outlandish accessories, seeing as it has produced bottle openers, beer koozies, slides and beach towels and more within the last two years. So, for AW16, it has thought even further out of the box and produced the Shilo Balaclava, coming in a simple Black colourway. Maybe not the best one to wear in public, but it certainly functions well – you won’t realise it’s winter if you’re wearing this at any point up to the next spring. We also saw the arrival of a dope face mask, but it sold out on the website in under an hour!

Rounding off the AW16 collection is an awesome Black Sabbath collab. It is easy to see where the synergy arises from, with Raised By Wolves’ gritty, dark aesthetic being the perfect compliment to the heavy metal music that Black Sabbath produced throughout their almost-50-year career. Black Sabbath’s signature Master Of Reality album logo, in a purple wavy font, features on the black Master Of Reality Coach Jacket pictured above, serving as the only piece of outerwear in the collection. It features a waterproof dintex softshell outer, which provides great protection against the wind and rain, and is backed up by a mesh lining which enhances the jacket’s comfort. Raised By Wolves text features on the back in a black vinyl applique. The only hoodie in the collection is the Paranoid Hooded Sweatshirt in Grey, which features bold pink Paranoid text across the chest and the album of the same name’s track listing on the back in black. It has been constructed using 425GSM cotton, with flatlock stitching and a raglan sleeve design, so this hoodie has the perfect blend of style, quality, thickness and comfort.

The final items in the collaboration are the long and short sleeved t-shirts. On the left above we have the Master of Reality T-Shirt, a more lightweight alternative to the coach jacket of the same name. It features Black Sabbath’s wavy Master Of Reality album font in a bold purple across the chest, and Raised By Wolves text on the back in black, making it a real statement piece, certainly one for the Black Sabbath fans out there. Arguably though, the next piece fits that description even more so. The Creature Long-Sleeve T-Shirt has also arrived in black (its a Black Sabbath collaboration, it was always going to be a dark one!) featuring the iconic Creature logo in a large size on the front and in a smaller size repeated down the sleeves. The antichrist-looking graphic, in a red and black colour, on a black t-shirt with white Black Sabbath text, helps to produce what is overall a very metal-style t-shirt, potentially the piece in the collection that die-hard Sabbath fans will like the most. On the whole, a very well executed collaboration that fuses Black Sabbath’s style with Raised By Wolves’ quality immaculately.

Everything pictured above, as well as a few more items in Raised By Wolves’ AW16 collection, is available both online and in-store here at Attitude Inc. right now. Don’t expect it to hang around though – it is highly limited, and is flying out the door already!
