Edition 2 of Attitude Inc. Fitted is here, and it’s about time because we’ve had a slew of incredible new releases since the last one! Diadora, Quasi, HUF x Thrasher and more have all produced some of their best ever collections this season, and we’ve done our best to work all that goodness into one knockout outfit. Staying warm for winter yet and remaining colourful is key with this outfit, seeing as it’s been freezing all over the UK as of late and it’s all too tempting to bring out the darker colours!
The brightest piece of outerwear that we’ve seen recently is the Anorak Pullover from the HUF x Thrasher Tour De Stoops collaboration, which comes in a bold Mint colour. It functions incredibly well, with a polyester exterior making it incredibly water and wind resistant and the half-zip design making it very streamlined. The former is further aided by the hood (which can be adjusted to a fit of your preference via two toggles) and the latter is further aided by the adjustable velcro wrist cuffs, and completing the performance features is an additional popper button closure storm flap; clearly the British winter will pose no problems for this jacket. It features screen printed HUF/Thrasher graphics on the sleeves and chest, all of them coming in white to make the jacket even brighter. This will have you standing out from the crowd in the best way possible!
The only potential weakness with the jacket is that it may not keep you very warm, seeing as it is only an anorak. However, you can easily add layers underneath to keep you warmer without having to buy a heavier jacket – and the Brothers Crewneck Sweatshirt from Fucking Awesome’s latest collection fits the bill perfectly. The sweatshirt is typically heavy weight; a cotton poly construction makes it soft and thick, with the latter providing an excellent fleece lining that improves warmth and comfort significantly. It comes in a simple black colourway that has been set off nicely by the screen printed Brothers graphic on the chest, which features a variety of retro-styled dark shades and bold white Fucking Awesome text underneath it. It’ll complement the outfit nicely, keeping it simple and monochrome when you’re not wearing the jacket.
To maximise warmth even further, you can add a long-sleeve t-shirt under the crewneck, and the Quasi x Pollard Hot Freaks LS Tee on the right above is one of the best we’ve seen recently. Screen printed graphics paying homage to Robert Pollard, lead singer songwriter of Dayton band Guided By Voices, feature all over the pastel blue t-shirt – its easy to draw similarities between this and the anorak, which is why it’s an ideal t-shirt to include, particularly if you’re indoors when it can be shown off!
The bottom half of an outfit is make or break territory, and trousers/jeans in particular are often a very overlooked component of an outfit despite their obvious importance. The Tight Jeans from Cheap Monday would be perfect for this outfit, because the Escape Black colour is dark yet slightly washed at the same time, which will mute the tone of the outfit to perfection. The jeans are incredible, made of 98% cotton and 2% elastic to make them very soft and slightly stretchy, which ensures excellent comfort overall. The slim/skinny fit is one that works for just about anyone, and will look great with the anorak if you go true to size. Antique silver-finished buttons offer subtle touches of class, and the slightly frayed hem is a nice finishing touch providing a worn-in look.
Now for what is the most important part to a lot of people – footwear. Diadora has had an excellent AW16 so far, and no shoe has made as much of an impression as the White V7000 from the recent Samurai Pack. Featuring a full soft grey woven upper, the shoe is incredibly breathable and lightweight, yet retains a great structure thanks to lighter grey and white suede and leather overlays that wrap around the forefoot, heel and toebox. The lateral and medial sides of the shoe feature an intricate black and white woven pattern, similar to that which is embroidered on the heel in black. Diadora branding is typically in keeping with the shoe coming in black on the tongue, and V7000 text on the heel also fits in nicely in black. All of this sits atop a crisp white midsole with black hits, and a solid black outsole. These will complement the outfit perfectly because they work with every top layer – they match the white graphics on the pullover, the black colour of the sweatshirt, and the white graphics on the t-shirt.
