South London imprint Yardsale has quietly built a cult following over the last few seasons, but after this season it looks like it’ll be building a huge backing in a loud way. It has produced a stellar collection for AW16, and shot a clean lookbook to go with it. Some of the best pieces have arrived here at Attitude, and to commemorate this we’ve shot our first ever lookbook, with Ipswich providing the perfect backdrop for what is a perfectly vintage-tinged collection.
First up we have the heaviest outerwear piece in the collection – the Cruise Jacket, which comes in Black/Pink. Pictured above, the jacket has been constructed using cotton and polyester, to create a soft and flexible exterior that maintains a good weight to make it water and wind resistant, and a fleecy interior that will certainly keep you warm. The fit of the jacket is exceptional, thanks to elasticated cuffs at the wrists and waist, which provide a streamlined style that is very ideal for skating. Storage is provided by the two snap button closure front pockets, and the zip closure system makes the jacket very versatile. Branding comes in a maximal form, with pink embroidered Yardsale text in a large size on the back and smaller size on the chest – overall, a very clean jacket that will keep you cosy throughout the winter.
Moving down a layer, we have the Jewel Quarter Zip, which arrives in Navy/White. Constructed from cotton, the fleece is incredibly soft and comfortable, and also has a good thickness to it, so it will serve as an ideal extra layer through the winter months before you show it off during the spring/summer. Featuring a Polo Sport-style aesthetic, we see a panelled and colour blocked style result in a predominantly navy fleece with a white band around the torso, adorned with blue embroidered Yardsale text with a pink outline. A clear standout in the new collection, purely for its embodiment of everything Yardsale is doing oh so right at the moment.
Another midweight layer is the Airforce Crewneck Sweatshirt, arriving in Black. With ’80s style coursing through it, the sweatshirt features white stripes down the sleeves, both with an additional red trim, that has a real retro look to it. Coming with a cotton build, the sweatshirt is very soft and cosy, with a fleecy lining providing excellent warmth and comfort. Ribbed wrist and waist cuffs provide a closer fit in the necessary areas, and the ribbed neckline works with the screened neck label to improve comfort even further. Capping off the old-school style of the sweatshirt is an embroidered YS logo on the chest, Yardsale’s riff on the YSL logo that is synonymous with vintage fashion.
Finally we have the lightest layer in the collection, the Classic Logo SS T-Shirt, which arrives in White. Naturally, it is constructed from cotton, making it incredibly soft and comfortable. With a very basic style, the t-shirt is one that is highly accessible, as the only branding/graphic featured is Yardsale’s Classic Logo on the left of the chest, depicting a sun-kissed ocean with palm trees and Yardsale text. It’s one of those pieces that you really can’t go wrong with.
We’ve also seen the arrival of the Floral Fleece Jacket and Classic Logo LS T-Shirt with the latest collection. Evidently it’s incredibly strong, and similarly limited, so act fast if you want a piece of skate-styled, vintage-tinged goodness.
