Saucony Continues its Blistering Start to 2017 With the “Liberty Pack”

If Saucony didn’t signal its intentions for 2017 strongly enough with the recent Saucony Sneaks collaboration, then it certainly has now with the “Liberty Pack”. The GRID 9000 is again the chosen silhouette, this time being given two striking colour ups that have a real Spring feeling to them. Despite being a good bit away from Independence Day, we’re very glad that Saucony has gone all patriotic on us, because it has resulted in two of the best sneakers you’re going to see here Attitude all year!

The first GRID 9000 pictured above is officially listed as Light Tan, the brighter of the two. The upper of the shoe has been made predominantly using a cream-coloured ripstop, identifiable by the grid pattern that runs across it, which is exposed on the toebox, tongue and slightly on the midfoot. Overlaying that tough ripstop base is a good amount of micro perforated suede, unbelievably soft and premium whilst enhancing breathability at the same time. The aforementioned also comes in a cream colour, and is visible all around the front of the shoe, on the lace stay and around the top of the heel. Providing a subtle pop on the midfoot is a small hit of vachetta tan leather, which can also be found near the top lace eyelet and heel featuring Saucony embossed branding. Adding to the patriotic vibe of the shoe are the red and navy denim chambray touches, visible in the lining and on the heel respectively. As is usually the case with the GRID 9000, the midsole comes in a solid white to let the upper be the focal point, and the outsole comes in gum, a perfect compliment to the predominantly cream colourway. This is a shoe that needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated, no picture can do the materials and colourway justice!

The second GRID 9000 is pictured above, officially titled Grey. A slightly different approach has been taken this time around, with the upper being made predominantly using a grey woven material. That has been overlayed with an incredibly premium suede that wraps around the bottom of the upper where it meets the midsole, providing great structure and support. The same vachetta tan leather hits that we saw on the previous GRID 9000 appear again here, also featuring the same embossed Saucony branding and adding to the premium feel of the shoe significantly. Saucony’s three dots logo comes in a gorgeous red leather, providing the patriotic feeling that inspired the shoe, and a quality custom gold/tan Saucony tab features on the tongue. Again a white midsole lets the upper take centre stage, and the gum outsole perfectly complements the vachetta tan hits on the upper, and classy colourway overall.

Neither shoe is lacking on the technology front either. GRID, an acronym for Ground Reaction Inertia Device, is the cushioning tech that sits in the heel of the shoe visible through the outsole, consisting of woven Hytrel filaments that absorb and deflect the impact of each step throughout the EVA foam midsole, to reduce the stress on the foot overall. The sole is visible staggered, slimming down around the toe area, which lets you roll off the board of your foot with each step, providing a smoother walking or running experience overall. So it’s safe to say, these shoes perform just as good as they look – and that’s exactly why you need a pair!

These are due to be released on the 12th January here at Attitude. They will be both online and in-store, but just look at them – there is no way they’re going to hang about, so act fast!

You can view the rest of our Saucony range, including a similar GRID 9000 to the Light Tan rendition above, on our website and in our Colchester and Ipswich stores.
