Pastel Shades are the Focal Point of Polar’s Summer ’17 Collection

If you need an indicator of what the hottest trends of the moment are, Polar is bang on, 100% of the time. Judging by the brand’s latest offerings, the Summer ’17 collection that is dropping this Friday, pastel colours are going to be all the rage for the third summer in a row. We’re certainly not complaining!

As usual, Polar again excels in the outerwear category. The two styles offered by the brand this season naturally take on a more lightweight form, with both the Oski Jacket on the left and the Anorak Jacket on the right being very aerodynamic. Both feature full polyester exteriors and airy mesh linings for maximum comfort and resistance against the elements, as well as two front pockets for storage. The Oski has a full zip closure system at the front for a versatile fit, and the Anorak has a more streamlined feel to it thanks to the half zip running from the neck to the midriff. The Oski also has a hood whereas the Anorak doesn’t, so if you prefer that extra coverage, the Oski is the way to go. Finally, both jackets have been graced with subtle Polar branding, on the left of the chest on the Oski and just below the half zip on the Anorak.

The Default Hoodie has been a staple in Polar’s last three our four collections, and it looks as good as ever this season, with the Royal Blue colourway being a standout. Pictured on the left above, the hoodie is nice and lightweight thanks to a predominantly cotton construction, but has a plush fleece lining to ensure warmth all year round. Creating a streamlined fit is the ribbing at the wrists and waist, bringing the hoodie closer to the body, and the hood can be adjusted using a drawstring. Lastly, Polar’s ubiquitous Default Logo has been embroidered, intricately as ever, on the centre of the chest in white. Look out for this hoodie in Black and an unreal Seafoam Green, too.

One of the best pieces in the whole collection is the Half-Zip Sweatshirt, another example of Polar striking just as the iron gets really hot. Coming in two colours, Powder Blue (on the right above) and Lavender, the sweatshirt boasts a clean YKK zip running from the neck down to the midriff, and ribbing at the wrists and waist for a close fit. Branding is as subtle as can be, with embroidered Polar text featuring on the back of the collar. It’s no surprise, though – the colourway is the obvious focal point here, and we’re loving it.

If you’re in need of some stripes for summer, you’ve need look no further. On the left above we’ve got the Striped Rib Tee, which comes in the White colourway pictured and the Royal Blue that can be seen in the cover photo. Being a cut and sew item, the quality is absolutely unreal, offering a nice and relaxed fit. Red and blue stripes run across the body and sleeves, and the ribbed neckline features the same colours repeatedly wrapping around it. Again, the colourway is prioritised, with Polar’s Stroke Logo being embroidered on the left of the chest in a tonal white.

The slightly louder ’91 Longsleeve is ideal for those of you that prefer long sleeves. A more vivid striped pattern has been used, with bands of navy and cyan wrapping around the dusty rose-coloured t-shirt on the right above (and there’s a similarly maximal Graphite/Cyan colourway, too). Ribbing at the wrists and neckline ensure a comfortable and aerodynamic fit, and finally, Polar text has been embroidered on the left of the chest. Plus, the t-shirt is thicker than normal, so the overall quality really is outstanding.

Happy/Sad socks make a welcome return in more fresh colourways, with the Seafoam Green version on the left above being a particular highlight. The socks are made using cotton, polyester and spandex, giving them the perfect blend of softness, thickness and stretchiness. The two stripes around the calves create a cool tube sock style, and Polar’s Happy and Sad faces feature on the toe area of each foot. There’s also more basic White and Black colourways, so you’re not short of options.

The clear winner in the headwear department is the latest version of the No Comply Cap, pictured on the right above. Created using a cotton twill material, the hat is nice and lightweight as well as durable, and nicely ventilated by the embroidered eyelets on each of the panels. The hat’s fit can be adjusted using the striped strap and metal slider at the back, and Polar’s signature No Comply logo has been embroidered on the crown in black. You could go all out and get this hat, or the Navy version, and the Striped Rib tee to match.

Overall, it’s another very strong collection from Polar that further cements its place as one of the best brands we have on our roster here at Attitude. Keep an eye out for everything above, and much more, dropping on Friday 16th June on our website and in our Colchester store.
