The Trap Lord/Hood Pope himself, A$AP Ferg, has had a stellar summer so far with his Still Striving mixtape being released to critical and commercial success, as has his project with the rest of the A$AP Mob, Cozy Tapes Vol. 2. Capping things off nicely is a second collaboration between himself and adidas Skateboarding, due to launch here at Attitude this Friday, 1st September.
The focal point of the collection has to be the two new Matchcourt skate shoes, though only has been teased so far. The White/Red iteration pictured above certainly fits better with the apparel in the collection, but the Black/White version, which you can see tomorrow, is a bit more minimal for those of you that want something a touch more versatile. Both shoes boast a full-grain leather upper, very flexible and premium, and matching leather Three Stripes on the lateral and medial sides. An awesome Trap Lord logo appears on the tongue in blue on the White Matchcourt, along with gold foil TLHP text on the lateral side. Capping things off are the custom slogan black laces, off-white toe-cap and matching off-white midsole, for a more refined appearance.
There’s two choices when it comes to t-shirts, with a jersey, pictured on the left above, and a more standard white tee, pictured on the right above. The jersey features a white base with a subtle burgundy pinstripe detail, as well as burgundy Three Stripes down the shoulders and sleeves, and burgundy tipping around the collar. Being adidas, the jersey is very performance-oriented, being made from a polyester tricot that incorporates climalite technology, adidas’ way of sweeping sweat away from the skin. TLHP text, as well as Trap Lord and adidas Trefoil logos, feature on the chest, also in burgundy.
The standard tee has been made using cotton, providing a crisp white backdrop for the pink/yellow gradient Trap Lord and Trefoil logos to stand out against. They feature on the front in a small size, and the same Trap Lord logo features on the back in a much larger size. Very New York, and very Harlem.
Last of all we have the standout apparel piece, the windbreaker jacket, and also a clean tan-coloured six panel cap. The windbreaker comes in very vintage fashion with a wild pattern of different shapes and shades of blue on the front and back atop a white base, and red/pink gradient Three Stripes down the shoulders and sleeves. Lovely touches include white Trap Lord text on the left of the chest, a Trap Lord logo at the left of the waist, and a Trefoil logo tab on the white zipper. Rave-ready, to say the least.
The cap has been made using a cotton twill material, providing an unstructured style that guarantees a fit suitable for just about anyone. It’s very adaptable, with an elastic band featured at the back, and finally, Ferg’s Trap Lord logo features on the crown, printed in white.
The A$AP Ferg x Adidas “Trap Lord” collection will be launching with us here at Attitude tomorrow, Friday 1st September. It’s very limited, so don’t expect it to hang around for long – keep an eye on our Instagram for updates, and get those autofill forms ready.
