The two standout shoes in Converse’s CONS skate range, the CTAS Pro and One Star Pro, have been reworked to perfection by Berlin skate specialist Civilist for AW17. It’s actually been a while since we’ve seen full premium leather uppers on both shoes in the main range, making these two new iterations all the more welcome.
The One Star, as mentioned before, features a full leather upper, with added perforations for enhanced breathability and a much classier look overall. The leather has a good thickness and flexibility to it, essentially the perfect combo for withstanding the test of skateboarding. As is always the case with the One Star in the CONS range, an insanely responsive Lunarlon sockliner has been added to protect your heels against harsh impact whilst maximising boardfeel around the toes. Civilist likes to take a minimal approach when it comes to their own branding, and the same can be said on this occasion, with black Civilist text debossed on the heel. Capping things off are a clean black lining inside, and a translucent red soles with the Berlin TV Tower on one, and the Radio Tower on the other.
The CTAS is more or less a flip of the One Star in terms of colours. A full black leather upper has been utilised, without perforations this time, and the signature contrasting toecap of the CTAS has been removed for a cleaner overall look. Strong colour blocking is provided by the solid white midsole and white heel tab, the latter bearing black debossed Civilist text. On the tongue we see an outline of the Berlin perimeter, one of three nods to Berlin on the shoe – the other two being the Radio Tower and TV Tower, which can be seen in black through the translucent yellow outsoles. Performance-enhancing features including a Lunarlon sockliner and rubber overlay around the front of the midsole remain, so if you do want to skate these shoes you’re getting the same great performance you’d associate with any other CTAS Pro shoe.
Both shoes are available right now here at Attitude, both online and in our Colchester store. If you fancy getting your hands on one of the cleanest collabs we’ve seen this year, get moving now, and you can even get them for under retail by signing up to our email newsletter!
