It’s been a great month for new releases so far here at Attitude, with Real Skateboards, RIP N DIP, and Thrasher all dropping solid winter collections. Just in time for Christmas, Yardsale and adidas have decided to throw their hats in the ring, with velvet being a key factor in the success of both brand’s new releases.
First up from Yardsale’s Winter ’17 range is the Black/Claret Velour Track Jacket, on the left above. Colour blocking has been a very big trend as of late, and the claret stripes running down the sides of the body with a subtle blue/white trim add a lovely pop of colour to the jacket. A full zip closure system is present at the front of the jacket, and there’s an embroidered Yardsale Script Logo on the left of the chest. Capping off the track jacket aesthetic are ribbing at the wrists and waist, and a contrasting claret funnel neck design.
On the right above we have an item that Yardsale always gets very right – a quarter zip fleece jacket in Cream/Rose. The short/wide vintage-styled fit offered by the jacket is very cosy, perfect for the colder weather we’re experiencing at the moment, and elasticated wrists and waist ensure a secure fit. Just below the quarter-length zip at the front of the jacket is embroidered Yardsale text, coming in rose red with a black outline for maximum clarity.
Next up from Yardsale is another piece that indicates the brand’s love for all things vintage – a Burgundy Corduroy Shirt. Again you’re getting a wider fit for a retro look, which is enhanced further by the tortoise shell-patterned buttons that comprise the closure system at the front and the sleeve cuffs. Embroidered onto the corduroy pocket on the chest is a white Yardsale Script Logo atop a larger embroidered black YS Logo.
A nice heavyweight crewneck sweatshirt definitely wouldn’t go a miss with this current cold snap, and you need look no further than the Indigo/Cream Crewneck on the right above. A full cotton construction provides a thick and fleece-lined sweatshirt that’ll keep you toasty no matter how cold it is outside, and ribbing at the waist and wrists ensures a nice and secure fit. Across the chest we see a cream band with red accents, and very lowkey Yardsale text embroidered on the left of the chest.
The new Panel Logo made a great debut appearance on a white Crewneck Sweatshirt last season, and Yardsale has thankfully brought it back for winter – this time on a white t-shirt. Featuring a pure cotton construction, the t-shirt is very soft and comfortable, providing a nice and relaxed fit. You may not realise it at first glance, but just like on the sweatshirt before it, the Panel Logo has been intricately embroidered on the chest of this t-shirt – the detail is absolutely incredible.
The Script Logo T-Shirt is one that we see in a variety of colourways throughout the year, and one of the highlights of the season is the Carolina Blue iteration we have this time around. Again, the t-shirt has been constructed using high quality cotton for a soft and comfortable fit, and is nice and relaxed around the sleeves and torso. Across the chest, Yardsale’s ’80s influenced Script Logo features in a sunglow orange, with a subtle pink outline for improved sharpness.
On to adidas now, and they’ve just dropped the most daring shoe we’ve seen here at Attitude this year. Velour on any shoes is a risk, let alone a pair of skate shoes, but the Three Stripes has managed to execute the new signature colourway for team rider Na-Kel Smith to perfection. Purple velvet wraps around the midfoot and heel with a real sleek to it, before a textile suede takes over on the toe and forefoot for improved durability. Along the textile stripe at the heel, we see Na-Kel’s logo in orange, and Na-Kel text runs parallel with the white Three Stripes on the lateral side. Carrying on the crisp look of the shoe is the solid white midsole, and the outsole fittingly comes in black.
If you do dare to skate these shoes, the same performance features you’d expect from the Matchcourt do remain. An EVA insole provides excellent cushioning and comfort under foot, and the sole being vulcanized guarantees a great level of boardfeel. The front of the midsole features an extra textured rubber overlay for maximum durability and control when executing flip tricks, and finally, a complex traction pattern on the outsole means that sticking to your board will never be an issue.
Everything pictured above, as well as even more pieces from both Yardsale and adidas, are available online and in-store here at Attitude right now. the last delivery date for Christmas has been and gone now, but you can still get yourself down to our Colchester store over the next two days to get your finally few presents!
