Converse has marked its arrival for AW16 with four new styles, and the CTAS Pro Hi makes up two of those. Whereas with the other three shoes we've seen quite bold colourways, this CTAS takes on a more basic form, but it's got great little details that spice it up perfectly. Officially titled the "Blanket Stripe HI" in a Black/White colourway, this shoe is perfect for Converse lovers and skaters alike.
The upper of the shoe is a rubber-infused suede, which is every bit as high-tech as it sounds. It's essentially a thicker, more durable suede, that's perfect for withstanding the abrasion experienced when skating. It comes in black to make the majority of the upper nicely low-key, and let the striped red/grey/blue tongue take centre stage underneath the flat black laces. The CTAS' signature enhanced toecap comes in white, matching the midsole nicely, with a gum outsole providing just the right amount of retro Chuck Taylor style.
What's made the CONS range so successful, aside from great colourways, is the tech packed into each shoe. A Lunarlon sockliner features on this occasion, which provides incrediblle impact cushioning to let you skate in comfort for longer. Durability is taken care of by the enhanced rubber toecap and textured rubber overlay that wraps around the front of the midsole, a high abrasion area when attempting flip tricks and such. Finally, boardfeel isnt sacrificed despite the thickness of the Lunarlon sockliner, thanks to a vulcanised and grippy rubber sole.
Converse's Fall 16 range, featuring the CTAS Hi, CTAS Lo and One Star, is available both online and at our Ipswich location right now.
