Details
Nike SB is simply the best at creating hybrid models that push the boundaries of traditional skateboarding footwear. One of those hybrid models is the Bruin Hyperfeel, which has been incredibly well received since its launch not too long ago. It's arrived in another colourway for AW16, Anthracite/Clay Orange.
The shoe boasts an incredibly durable suede upper, grey in colour and short-haired in nature. Nike's Swooshes on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe have been given priority via a white colour, with other Nike branding on the heel and tongue coming in a vivid orange. The tongue and laces come in a slightly darker grey colour, which provides a nice alternative to the grey that makes up the main portion of the shoe. The midsole also comes in a slightly darker grey, to complement the laces and tongue nicely. The only other flash of colour on the otherwise dark shoe comes on the outsole, which has been given a very bright orange colour up.
The tech that has been packed into the shoe is outstanding. The Hyperfeel in the title of the shoe refers to the combination of the sockliner and sole, with the former being foam to provide cushioning and the latter featuring an intricate tread pattern that provides excellent grip when skating, and numerous deep-cut grooves which let the shoe flex naturally with the foot. The outcome of the two components is unparalleled boardfeel that can't be matched by many skate shoes currently on the market. A thin layer of Hyperscreen runs along the top of the midsole where it meets the upper, which enhances durability significantly and reduces the chances of separation occuring. Also improving durability is the lack of stitching across the upper, traded out for fusing to reduce the chances of rips and tears appearing. Finally, the sidewall around the front of the midsole features a light texture, which helps with controlling flip tricks that little bit more.
