Variations of the Nike SB Dunk are always welcome, seeing as the basic model is such a knockout shoe to begin with. Bad weather is firmly on the horizon, with autumn and winter fast approaching, and in the UK that often means rain and potentially snow are incoming. Thankfully, Nike has upgraded the Dunk High to create the Dunk High Boot, a winter-optimised shoe with all the ruggedness of a pair of hiking boots mixed with timeless Nike Dunk style.
The upper comes in full black leather, very thick and durable in nature, providing great protection against rain and snow. This has been backed up by a fleecy black lining, which improves the warmth and comfort of the shoe drastically. The Dunk's traditional lace eyelets have been traded out for silver metal ones, providing a much more secure fit. Rounding off the shoe are red laces and a crisp white midsole, adding just the right amount of colour to a nicely muted shoe.
Some of the winter-optimising features I have spoken about already, for example the full leather upper and fleece lining, but there is of course more to the shoe than just those two upgrades. A ripstop tongue helps to make it even more difficult to see where the rain or snow can penetrate the shoe, and deep-cut grooves are featured in the outsole which significantly improve its flexibility. Finally, the outsole pods feature large blocks which provide incredible traction on any given surface.
We also have multiple other offerings from Nike SB, including the Janoski, Bruin Hyperfeel, GTS, Trainerendor, P Rod, Koston Max, Zoom Oneshot and Check.
