The DXN Trainer is one that certainly holds a place in Saucony's history, seeing as it was designed by Rod Dixon, the first runner to ever clock a sub-3:54 time for running a mile. This season, it has returned in two very fresh colourways, the second of which is this Black iteration.
The base of the upper is a black mesh, which despite its thick and spongy nature still provides a great level of breathability. This is offset by deep black suede overlays, present around the toebox and heel, which offer a more stable and locked-in fit. Saucony branding comes on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe in a soft leather, and also on the tongue and heel, where it is embossed into a vivid orange leather.
GRID technology came ahead of this shoe's time, however the sole is still very soft and responsive as is the sockliner. Also, the outsole features a very aggressive tread pattern, which offers an unreal amount of traction on any surface. You can certainly see why one of the best runners ever placed his faith in the shoe.
We also have a host of other Saucony Originals styles, including the GRID 9000, GRID 8500, GRID 8000, Shadow 6000, G9 Shadow and Jazz Original.
