The GRID SD is by far and away one of Saucony's most popular styles in the sneaker world, thanks to its retro-runner style and its incredibly comfortable nature. Colourways never go wanting either, with the "Kushwacker" being one of the most popular Saucony shoes ever, and for AW16 the model has returned with a similarly premium Oiled Black colourway, one half of the "Public Gardens Pack".
The upper features a variety of high quality materials. A supple leather forms the basis of the shoe, appearing visibly on the toebox and midfoot and in a much smaller way around the heel. The aforementioned has been offset with a soft black suede, which forms the Saucony branding on the midfoot and provides a nice alternative shade of black to the leather. The dark upper contrasts nicely against the off-white midsole and outsole, and maximises the bold nature of the red lining of the shoe. Saucony text has been embossed into the suede on the heel, to round off a minimal shoe that lets the colourway and materials do all the talking.
The GRID text in the shoe's title stands for Ground Reaction Inertia Device, which is Saucony's answer to the cushioning that runners needed back in the '90s. It is essentially a woven configuration of Hytrel filaments which are designed to absorb and deflect the harsh impact experienced when your heel hits the floor, so you can be sure that these shoes are some of the most comfortable sneakers there are here at Attitude!
We also have a host of other Saucony Originals styles, including the GRID 9000, GRID 8500, DXN Trainer, Shadow 6000, G9 Shadow and Jazz Original.
