The Vans Full Cab is the older brother of the Half Cab, arguably the most most famous skate shoe ever made. Skaters including Caballero himself did a DIY cut of the Full Cab to make the Half Cab, so the Full Cab's role in creating the now-iconic Half Cab can never be forgotten. Vans is fully aware of this, and has reissued the shoe as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations in its original Burgundy colourway.
The shoe's upper features a combination of suede and neoprene. The burgundy parts of the upper, around the forefoot, midfoot and heel, are all a very short-haired suede which is incredibly durable, perfect for skating. The grey areas that break up the upper come in a croc-embossed suede, adding a nice texture and style to the shoe. Black details come in the form of the laces and woven Caballero label on the lateral side of the shoe, and also the tongue, which is a black neoprene. Rounding off the upper is white stitching throughout, which suitably brightens the shoe without making it overbearing.
The shoe has been brought right into 2016 with the inclusion of some of Vans' best skate technology. UltracushHD insoles have of course been incorporated, providing incredible impact protection at the heel and boardfeel around the toes. The vulcanized sole, incredibly durable in nature, has been reinforced with Duracap overlays around its front, to further enhance durability in what is a typically high abrasion area when skating.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Gilbert Crockett Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
