The Old Skool is undoubtedly one of the top two Vans shoes ever made. Alongside the Authentic, there aren't many shoes in the world that have such a universal appeal, and it all comes down to the shoe's beautiful simplicity. Accessible colourways are characteristic of the Old Skool, and for its 50th anniversary, Vans has reissued the shoe in it's supremely simple original colourway, White/Black.
The shoe's construction features a host of different premium materials. At the toebox, running up the lace eyelets and around the heel, we see an off-white suede, unbelievably soft in nature yet highly durable at the same time (the shoe is designed for skating, of course). Around the midfoot and top of the heel, as well as on the tongue, we see a white canvas material, which provides crucial support to enhance the secure fit of the shoe, matching the white midsole nicely. Finally, black details appear in the form of the laces, the stripes on the lateral and medial sides, and the stripe running along the top of the midsole, all of which contribute perfectly to the toning down of the shoe.
Vans' best skate technology has brought this shoe into 2016 perfectly. UltracushHD insoles provide unparalleled impact protection at the heel, and slim down around the toes to enhance boardfeel. Duracap overlays wrap around the front of the midsole, to enhance durability which is already significant thanks to the sole being vulcanized.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Gilbert Crockett Pro, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
