Geoff Rowley's signature Vans shoe harks back to a golden era of skateboarding, when bulky shoes like DC's and Etnies were all the rage. There's certainly still a place for shoes like that in the market, and the Rowley Pro, first launched in 2000, is a piece of Vans history. It has been celebrated with the 50th Anniversary pack, returning in a classic Triple Black colourway.
The shoe's upper has been constructed using predominantly nubuck, which is very high quality and offers unreal durability and comfort. The lighter hits on the shoe that appear more grey are a perforated leather, which enhance breathability significantly. The tongue comes in a black canvas, as does the top part of the ankle, which enhances comfort nicely. Rounding off the low-cut shoe is a plush textike lining, which is padded around the ankle to provide support and security as well even more comfort.
The shoe has been plastered with great Vans skate technology to optimise it for 2016. UltracushHD sockliners provide unparalleled cushioning in the heel, before slimming down and enhancing boardfeel around the forefoot and toes. Duracap overlays are also of course present, maximising durability around the front of the midsole, an area that gets destroyed by flip tricks when skating. Finally, the iconic waffle outsole provides great traction on any surface.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
