Something a little different this time around - we've got a Vans Pro shoe, but it's not from a skater, rather a BMXer. Dakota Roche has been tearing up the scene for a minute now, and the classic Vans Style 112 is the latest shoe to be given Dakota's Pro treatment. It comes in Black/Olive for Spring '17.
The upper is comprised largely of a black suede, the ideal material for a skate/BMX shoe because of its durability. The aforementioned wraps from the toebox, around both sides of the shoe and to the heel, where it meets a black leather hit that provides a really clean aesthetic. The tongue comes in a black textile material, contributing nicely to the colourway, and Vans' signature stripe appears in olive suede on the lateral and medial sides. Other olive hits include a Vans tab on the lateral side, and a Vans OTW logo on the tongue.
Performance-enhancing features are in abundance with the Style 112. An UltraCushHD footbed offers great protection against harsh landings and generally enhances comfort to unprecedented levels, and the rubber waffle outsole provides excellent traction. Durability is taken care of by the suede upper alone, but when you factor in DURACAP reinforcement around the front of the midsole and an enhanced rubber toecap, you get one of the most durable shoes on the market. Finally, a Vulc Lite construction has been used for the sole, which lets it flex naturally with the foot to ensure great boardfeel.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Chima Ferguson Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, Kyle Walker Pro and Tony Trujillo Pro.
