The Janoski has arrived in some ultra-premium iterations so far for AW16, with the HT Black/Black/White suede version being a particular highlight. If that muted colourway wasn't quite to your taste, Nike has blessed us with a Baroque Brown/Ivory colour-up that has a clean, autumnal feel to it.
The upper features a suede that is quite simply exceptional. It almost feels wrong to say these are skateable, the quality is that good! It's super soft and provides lighter and darker shades of brown across the shoe, to make it much more visually appealing. Nike's iconic Swoosh logo has been embossed into the upper on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe to provide a sleek style, which is further enhanced by the solid ivory midsole. The contrast between the dark upper and bright sole works perfectly to create a striking yet subtle shoe overall.
Technology doesn't go a miss despite the shoe looking more ready for a formal dinner as opposed to a skate sesh. Zoom Air remains in the heel, providing responsive cushioning and comfort, and an extra layer of textured rubber remains wrapped around the front of the midsole, providing enhanced durability in a typically high abrasion area. Perforations are featured on the vamp to enhance breathability, and the decorative stitching around the toebox provides a good visual cue for foot placement when skating. All in all, a shoe that will perform as good as it looks.
We also have multiple other offerings from Nike SB, including the Janoski Max, Bruin Hyperfeel, GTS, Trainerendor, P Rod, Koston Max, Dunk, Zoom Oneshot and Check.
