Saucony has had an incredible start to 2017, and that has continued with the "Liberty Pack". The GRID 9000 is the chosen model this time around, being given two striking colour ups that have a real Spring feeling to them. Secondly we have the darker Grey edition, radiating pure Americanism just as much as its lighter predecessor.
The upper of the shoe has been made using a complex mixture of materials in a lot of different colours. The base of the upper has been made using a grey woven material, visible mainly on the toebox, and that has been overlayed with a complementing grey premium suede that forms a nice mudguard around the toe. At the quarter panel, Saucony's three dots logo comes in a contrasting red leather, largely contributing to the shoes national feel, and vachetta tan leather hits appear in a variety of places too. On the tongue, we see a classy vachetta tan Saucony tab with a golden logo, perfectly capping off an incredible colourway with even better materials.
The shoe isn't found wanting on the technology front, either. GRID, or Ground Reaction Inertia Device, sits in the heel of the shoe, consisting of woven Hytrel filaments that absorb impact at the heel and deflect it throughout the midsole to reduce its overall effects. That, combined with the descending shape of the sole, provides an incredibly walking experience overall - theres a reason this was one of the most popular running shoes of the '90s.
We also have a host of other Saucony Originals styles, including the GRID 8000, GRID 8500, DXN Trainer, Shadow 6000, G9 Shadow and Jazz Original.
