The most recent in a slew of premium releases from Saucony is the "Letterman II" Shadow 5000. Picking up from where last year's Letterman GRID 9000 left off, this is the perfect shoe for the remainder of the cold weather, and will see you stylishly into the imminent Spring and Summer.
The upper has been made predominantly using a heather wool, which features on the toebox and midfoot most prominently in a dark grey/almost black. The aforementioned works well with the black leather that offers added support around the heel and provides a much more premium aesthetic. Saucony's three dots logo on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe comes in the same black leather, standing out nicely without detracting from the overall colourway. Just as with the first Letterman, we see a chenille "S" logo on the tongue, but this time it comes in grey to keep things toned down. All that sits atop a crisp white midsole and classy gum outsole, a tried-and-tested method that never fails to look premium.
The shoe performs just as good as it looks, too. The midsole is fully EVA cushioned, providing exceptional comfort when walking or running, and successfully protecting you against harsh impacts at the heel in particular. The descending shape of the sole lets you roll off your toes with each step, and the outsole features a complex traction pattern that'll have you griping the ground well on the most slippery of surfaces.
We also have a host of other Saucony Originals styles, including the GRID 8000, GRID 8500, DXN Trainer, Shadow 6000, GRID 9000 and Jazz Original.
