The desert boot-style silhouette was once a shoe reserved for men who needed something less formal than a brogue or similar smart shoe. Vans was the first sneaker brand to realise the versatility of the silhouette, and released its own skate-oriented take on the shoe some time ago. Since the first Vans Chukka released, times have changed and now the Chukka is one of the most accessible footwear styles there is, worn by anyone and everyone. It has arrived in its original Bison Brown colourway for AW16.
The upper features a full suede construction, which maximises the rich brown colour and enhances durability significantly. The minimal colourway has been created with the addition of black laces, which match the solid black midsole nicely. A leather lining wraps around the ankle, with a textile lining featuring throughout the rest of the shoe. Of course, the waffle outsole comes in the classic gum colour.
The shoe has been brought into 2016 with the inclusion of some of Vans' best skate technology. Duracap reinforcements have been applied to the front of the toebox and midsole, necessary because these are typically high abrasion areas when skating. A vulcanized sole construction also enhances durability significantly, and finally UltracushHD sockliners provide great cushioning around the heel and boardfeel around the forefoot and toes.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
