The Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro model is a great shoe as it is, but Vans had to step it up a notch by introducing the Mid, another great shoe offering more ankle and achilles support and protection than the standard Crockett Pro. How can it get any better you may ask? Well, here I introduce the Gilbert Crockett Mid X-Tuff in Black/Grey!
The upper has been creating using grey canvas, which has been given an x-tuff coating to make it waxy and highly resistant to rain and general abrasion, making them perfect for skating. Black felt graces the Vans stripe and ankle collar, adding some more colour to the shoe, and the tongue comes in a black canvas as usual. Gilbert's signature branding is a patch embroidered onto the tongue.
Vans' best skate technology has been packed into this shoe to optimise it for its main purpose. An UltraCush HD footbed keeps the foot close to the board around the toes whislt providing great impact cushioning around the heel, and the Wafflecup sole construction provides the secure, locked in fit of a cupsole and the grippy durability of a vulcanised sole. Finally, Duracap reinforcements have been applied to the front of the toebox and midsole, to bolster what is typically a high abrasion area when skating.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Era Pro, AVE Rapidweld, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
