Gilbert Crockett's signature Vans skate shoe has been reworked for Spring '17, the result being the Gilbert Crockett Pro 2 - and it must be said, it's going to be one of the most popular skate shoes of the year. A more subtle alternative to the Ivy Green colourway we've seen already is this Black/White colour-up.
The upper comes predominantly in a black suede, but there's also some black canvas on there too. The former features all over the forefoot and toebox as well as on the heel, providing much-needed durability and support. The latter features on the midfoot and tongue, providing the comfort and flexibility needed to skate for long periods of time. Vans' stripe is stitched onto the upper in white on the lateral and medial sides, easing the transition into the crisp white midsole, and the outsole comes in gum, providing classic Vans style.
The shoe certainly isn't lacking on the tech front. UltraCushHD sockliners feature inside the shoe, providing a spongy footbed that'll protect your feet against the harsh impacts of skating. The heel counters combined with the molded heel pocket inserts to ensure a secure fit, and the Wafflecup sole construction merges a supportive cupsole with a boardfeel-oriented vulcanized sole. Capping things off (no pun intended) are Duracap overlays around the front of the midsoles, enhancing durability to unprecedented levels.
We also have a host of other Vans Pro Skate models, including the Old Skool, Sk8-Hi, Kyle Walker Pro, Chima Ferguson Pro, Half-Cab, and Tony Trujillo Pro.
